I stumbled across these books at NSTA. Saw them in the bookstore and thumbed through. They looked very elementary and as a high school teacher, I didn't think I'd have any use for them. I put them down and browsed on. Later, I happened into a workshop because the one I wanted to too far to walk to. You know how that goes. I was half listening and half looking for a closer workshop that would interest me. I really was just needing a chair. Then I heard the conversations about this "probe" or question that was being projected. Holy cow!! I was blown away and then I remembered that these were from that "elementary book" I looked at. I could NOT have been more wrong about these books. I recommend that any teacher hoping to get to the heart of their students' science misconceptions will buy at least one and try it out. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR TEACHING!!!!
