framework "posters" for classrooms

homemade "posters" of the Cross-Cutting Concepts and the Practices from the Framework for K-12 Science Education.
I suggest you print on different colored paper and laminate.  I have one wall with the Cross-Cutting concepts and another wall with the Practices displayed.
If you want a "word" version, email me and I can send that directly via email.  I could only post pdfs here.

10 Surprising Facts About How Our Brain Works

link to a very interesting article

Science Teacher must have

here is another book that EVERY science teacher should own and read over and over again.

I really do feel sorry for other subject areas when they realize that they don't have a conceptual framework like we do.  We are spoiled!!  A must read for Big essential questions, the science and engineering practices, cross-cutting concepts and core ideas.

Page Keeley misconceptions books

One of the most powerful discoveries of my teaching career......
I stumbled across these books at NSTA.  Saw them in the bookstore and thumbed through.  They looked very elementary and as a high school teacher, I didn't think I'd have any use for them.  I put them down and browsed on.  Later, I happened into a workshop because the one I wanted to too far to walk to.  You know how that goes.  I was half listening and half looking for a closer workshop that would interest me.  I really was just needing a chair.  Then I heard the conversations about this "probe" or question that was being projected.  Holy cow!! I was blown away and then I remembered that these were from that "elementary book" I looked at.  I could NOT have been more wrong about these books.  I recommend that any teacher hoping to get to the heart of their students' science misconceptions will buy at least one and try it out.  IT WILL CHANGE YOUR TEACHING!!!!
